This weekend, Tempe (Arizona, USA) hosted the 2016 Desert Challenge Games – an international para-athletics event open to male and female athletes with a physical or visual impairment. The Desert Challenge Games are part of the IPC Athletics 2016 Grand Prix series, which features 10 different track and field meetings in five continents between February and July.

Among the Danish participants was Paralympics 2012-medalist Daniel Wagner Jørgensen. He is a strong candidate for a place on the podium in Rio, and here at Pressalit we are proud to be a personal sponsor for Daniel.

In Tempe, Daniel proved that he is well on track for the peak at the Paralympic Games in September. He won a silver medal on the 200m dash and two gold medals on the 100m and long jump in the T42/F42 class.

We have received two video greetings from Daniel for you. In this first one, Daniel tells about his arrival and the expectations for the competitions:

In the second video, Daniels tells about the results from the competitions and shows the medals.

Right after the Desert Challenge Daniel Wagner Jørgensen will travel to Rio to participate in another Grand Prix tournament that will also act as the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games athletics test event.
